🌿 My Story

A personal journey into cross-cultural communication

My journey into cross-cultural communication is deeply personal.

My name is Eva Teresi. I’m a cross-cultural communication expert based in Norway.

As an expat myself, I have experienced first-hand the challenges of navigating different cultural expectations in workplaces, everyday interactions, and team environments.

Moments of misunderstanding, differences in communication styles, and being perceived as too direct, too formal, or too expressive made me aware of how easily collaboration can be affected by cultural differences.

These experiences shaped not only my awareness but also my decision to work in the field of intercultural communication and team dynamics.

Today, I support organisations and teams in turning cultural differences into clearer communication, stronger trust, and more effective collaboration.

🌿 Experience & Perspective

Academic insight meets real-world practice

I hold a Master’s degree in Community Development and Social Innovation, combined with professional experience in both Italy and Norway.

Working across these two contexts has given me a comparative perspective on workplace culture, communication styles, and organisational dynamics.

My professional background includes roles in different organisational environments in both countries, strengthening my understanding of how cultural expectations influence collaboration, leadership, and everyday communication.

As part of my academic work, I conducted qualitative research on diversity and cross-cultural communication within Equinor, exploring employee experiences in a highly international organisation.

This provided first-hand insight into the challenges and opportunities of integrating multiple cultures within Norwegian corporate environments.

I am also actively engaged in the international community in Stavanger, which continuously exposes me to diverse cultural perspectives in both professional and social settings.

My work combines academic research with practical insight, with a particular interest in non-verbal communication and micro-expressions, informed by the theories of Paul Ekman.

This allows for a deeper understanding of how meaning is constructed beyond words, and how misunderstandings can emerge even in highly skilled international teams.

🌿 Let’s Work Together

Building awareness that changes collaboration

Today, I support organisations in strengthening cross-cultural communication and emotional intelligence to help teams build greater awareness, trust, and effectiveness in multicultural work environments.

If this resonates with the challenges your team is facing, I would be happy to explore how we can work together.

What once felt like personal challenges now informs my work on communication, awareness, and collaboration across cultures.
